Audio and video recording services

As well as being an opera singer myself, for the past 2 years I've been recording other classical musicians. I have recording experience that goes back to having a home recording studio in Poland, and now I own and operate a professional audio/video mobile recording rig in London (though I can travel with it if need be). If you record with me you not only get an experienced producer and engineer, but also someone who's been where you are, as well as sat on audition panels. The microphone can be an intimidating presence in a room, but I'm there to get you sounding your best, and will do everything I can to make your session calm, fun and productive.

I use microphones made by industry leaders Neumann, AKG and SE Electronics; and record your audio into Logic Pro X through a top quality Apogee interface with studio-class preamps and AD/DA converters (if you like numbers, then I record in 24bit and up to 192kHz sampling rate, which is well above CD quality). As for video, I use 2 Panasonic cameras (the industry-standard GH4) that record in 4K resolution, and Final Cut Pro which gives me great scope to make the final HD video more interesting than just an audition tape (with multiple camera angles and the ability to pan and zoom in post-production). I am also able to provide a black backdrop for video recordings, for a more studio-like look.

What concerns most young singers is cost. A lot of production companies charge a flat rate for a demo recording, but then you have to fit into how they do things (normally a couple of full takes and minimal post production). I charge a low hourly rate, run the session according to your needs rather than mine, and can also advise how best to plan your recording session to make it as cost-effective as possible without compromising the final product, be it a simple audition tape or a comprehensively edited performance film.
